The first lights of the 2007 season have gone up. The C9's are mostly done, and should be able to finish those out tomorrow. If I'm lucky, I'll get the icicle lights put up as well. Aside from the Star that would be everything needed to complete the roof of the house. |

Aside from some extension cords and the Star, the roof work is complete. (Which means only one more trip on the roof, and only one more chance of falling off for the season.) With luck I'll start working on the grid tomorrow. |

Tonight 1/2 of the grid went down. I'm hoping to get the other half of the grid tomorrow night. With luck by Friday evening some mini-trees should be in place, as well some of the extension cords needed to power the lights. Should luck continue to hold, I could be running tests by Monday or Tuesday night. |

It was a good night! With tomorrow off from work, I worked later than I normally would have. The grid is 100% complete, and the mini-trees are down. This leaves the 4 new trees, red C9's, bushes and the star as the only lights left to put out. After that I'll wire it up and start testing. |

Most of the display is up! I still need to put the 4 new trees out in the yard, as well as some electrical work. If all goes as planned tomorrow, I should be able to start some test runs tomorrow night. |

I still have one more tree to build and put out, and the C9's along the yard. Looks like everything will fall into place this year ... |

Aside from the signs for the radio frequency, the display is set up. Weather permitting, lights will go on tomorrow night. |

The display is 100% up and running! First night traffic has been moderate all night long. Possible weather this weekend, though ... the shows may not run. |

Due to the weather this weekend, the display was turned off. Looks like the weather will clear for Monday. |

In the first week already had people yelling at each other in the street. Seems one car decided to stop in the middle of the road. If you're coming out the see the display, please don't be that guy! |

There are now 15 songs in the display this year. (There is one more that I may or may not add to the playlist this year.) Please note: Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights. There are times in the evening where the playlist has been shortened to 4 songs, to help with the traffic flow. |

Which I guess is good news. *Knock on wood* we've had no major technical issues this year. Some rain in the forecast this week may bring some downtime, though. The shows have been modified for weekend traffic. For a few hours on Friday and Saturday the number of songs have been reduced to 4. This is to help with the traffic that builds during this time. Best time to see *all* songs is during the week, or *late* on the weekend. |

Got an email last night from someone who visited the display: My husband drove our family by to see your display tonight. It was wonderful! We could have stayed much longer and I've enjoyed the videos on your web site!

It was a fairly busy night tonight, by far the busiest that it's been all year. 2006 it rained on Christmas Eve ... and traffic on Christmas night was around the corner. We'll probably stick to two songs at a time until Wednesday night. This will help keep traffic moving on the street, and hopefully keep the roadway open. |

So far tonight it's been much slower than I expected. However, I think it's due to the voiceovers letting people know we are running two songs, and that the roadway must remain unblocked. I still think we'll go back to a full run of songs starting tomorrow night. |

It's slow out there tonight. Much slower than last year. We're running a few more songs per hour, but will continue to run until midnight even with no traffic. |
