Everything has been removed from the house and yard. No sign that a display was even there.

The 2008 display is over.

Tear down begins in about 5 minutes.

1 More Night
Written by Don
Tuesday, 30 December 2008 21:25

The 2008 display has officially run longer than any previous display here at the house, and yet you still have one more night to make it out.

The last song each night has always been "A Soldiers Silent Night" and tomorrow will be no different. However, after the last song tomorrow night, tear down begins! If you have nothing better to do on New Years Eve, stop by around 10:30pm, and help with tear down.

We've already got ideas for 2009 in the works, so be sure to stop by next year.

Twas the night before Christmas
Written by Don
Thursday, 25 December 2008 00:00

Twas the night before Christmas, and in front of my abode
People were stopping their cars, right in the middle of the road.

They'd stop right in front of the house and say, "I'm not breaking any laws."
No, but I'll bet you didn't get a thing last night from one Mr. Santa Claus.

Other cars would honk, they'd scream and they'd yell,
On this holiest of nights they told each other to go to h*ll.

Despite the reminders that this was all for their own protection
They'd drive away as if to raise some great big objection.

I didn't want to be be out there for the entire cold, dark, night
But if I didn't people would probably end up starting a fight.

These are the downsides to a large, elaborate display
Set up to honor the Christian holy day.

Don't worry though, We'll set it up again next year,
Thanks to the other positive comments we always hear.

More lights, new songs, and bigger and better than ever
We won't let the Grinch's get to us, not now, not never!

The night before Christmas Eve
Written by Don
Tuesday, 23 December 2008 20:34

Only a few more nights to catch the Wonderland Christmas display. We're planning on running through at least December 28th, though we might extend it to the 30th.

If you are going to see it, better hurry!

1 Week To Go
Written by Don
Sunday, 21 December 2008 17:41

If you want to see the display this year, I would suggest you make it out this week. I've been unable to locate a video camera, or a production company that I can afford. As such, the 2008 display will probably be lost to time.

If you can help, contact us today.

At the halfway point
Written by Don
Sunday, 14 December 2008 16:01

We're at the halfway point of the display season. Two weeks down, and probably another two weeks to go.

If you are going to come out to see the display, just keep in mind that from here on out it is going to be pretty busy each night. Come with a healthy dose of patience, and good Christmas cheer!

First week in the books

A quick thank you to everyone who has come out to see the lights here at Wonderland Christmas. With just over 3 weeks until the lights come down, it's only going to get busier from here on out.

Sneak Peak - 2008
Written by Don
Monday, 24 November 2008 09:23

For those who live in the city of the display (and know where it is!) you are invited to stop by for a sneak peak of the display.

Simply send me an email and let me know what time you'll be coming by. I'll set things up to run for you.

Finished! *

Saturday, 22 November 2008 19:10

Okay, so the display is up and ready to go! Right now things are running in static mode, alternating between clear and multi lights. The display will do its thing starting Friday the 28th, at 6:00pm.

* Okay, so it's not 100% up. I won't put the very last strands out until Friday the 28th. Won't take me but 30 minutes or so to do that.

More work completed
Written by Don
Sunday, 16 November 2008 17:53
Despite spending 8 hours helping an injured friend put up their display, I was able to complete some work on my own display today. Two-Thirds of the roof lights are now in place. With luck, I can get those out of the way tomorrow.

The yard grid is down, and ready to go.

A few more days of set-up and the display should be ready to go.

The lights are going up
Written by Don
Sunday, 09 November 2008 17:35

Today the first of the 2008 was put up. The new LED's on the roof were put out this afternoon.

Later this evening we're going to go outside and see how they look.

Probably won't put anything else up this week. Work will really get underway next weekend.

LED Work Continues
Written by Don
Saturday, 08 November 2008 13:57

Still working on getting the new LED's ready to put on the roof. I may start putting lights up tomorrow, if not it will be next weekend.

Regardless of when the lights go on, they won't be synchronized to music until the 28th.

Putting up lights - indoors
Written by Don
Saturday, 01 November 2008 16:19

Usually, the inside lights are put up after the outside lights are up and running. Course, that's when the holidays kick in, and everything goes into hyper-drive. So this year we decided to work on the indoor lights early.

The tree is up, and should be decorated by Sunday night. In fact, we should have a majority of the indoor Christmas decor up by tomorrow night.

Halloween @ Wonderland Christmas
Written by Don
Friday, 31 October 2008 19:17

For the second year in a row we placed one of our 8ft trees in the entry way, put on some Christmas music, a Christmas hat, and handed out Halloween candy.

The adults love it, kids are mezmorized and the teenagers don't know what to think.

28 days and counting until the lights go on!
